High Level Processing Tools

Authoring tools are used to define the business logic that will be applied to the incoming data. The use of high level authoring tools speeds productivity by letting an application developer focus on the business logic rather than data structures and data handling. It also eliminates the need for specialized real-time programming skills.

The Aleri Streaming Platform is the only complex event processing product that is not tied to a single authoring environment or programming language, but rather provides a choice of three different authoring environments. This allows a user to choose the environment they are most comfortable with or can be most efficient in:

• Aleri Studio

  An interactive development environment based on the Eclipse™ framework that provides tools for visually creating and editing continuous queries

• Aleri SQL

  A subset of standard SQL, this provides a familiar environment that leverages standard SQL syntax with a few extensions for real-time event processing. This also provides a very concise way of expressing the event processing logic

• Aleri XML

  The event processing logic can be expressed in XML following the Aleri XSD
